Our Partnership with The Salvation Army

Packo’s is proud to announce its partnership with the Salvation Army of Northwest Ohio to support our community and surrounding areas. Packo’s has several annual promotions to help raise money to be distributed by the Salvation Army to support its many far-reaching services.

“The Salvation Army touches so many lives in positive ways, not only through their assistance efforts but through their coordination with other county agencies to care for those in need,” said Emily Bennett, President of Tony Packo’s. “Giving Tuesday will be the first of many events Packo’s will host to help those among us who need a helping hand.”

The Salvation Army of Northwest Ohio provides many programs and offers unsubstantiated assistance to our community throughout the year. They may help a young child struggling with school, a person trying to overcome challenges associated with substance abuse addiction, or a senior unable to get out of their home. The Salvation Army listens to any crisis a family is experiencing and provides comfort and support. These core values, amongst many, are why Packo's chose to partner with the Salvation Army in 2014.

Facts about The Salvation Army

Salvation Army services and programs serve 30 million Americans each year!

History of the Red Kettle

The red kettle campaign is an annual fundraiser for the Salvation Army. The tradition began in 1891 when Salvation Army Captain Joseph McFee set up a kettle to collect donations to help gather money to provide a free Christmas dinner to those in need in the San Fransisco area.

Today, Salvation Army’s Red Kettles is one of the world's most recognizable and popular fundraising drives. Every year, millions of people donate to the Salvation Army through the red kettles. The money raised helps provide food, clothing, and toys for needy people. In addition, the Salvation Army uses the funds to support its many programs and services, such as housing assistance and disaster relief. The red kettle campaign is essential for the Salvation Army to continue its mission of helping those in need.
