Chicken Paprikas - Our Signature Dish
Two traditional Eastern European ingredients are paprika and Old World sauce. What are these you might ask? Paprika is a type of red pepper that is dried and ground into a powder. It’s used to add flavor and color to dishes. Old World sauce is a tomato-based sauce typically made with onions, garlic, and various spices. It’s often used as a topping for meats and vegetables.
These two ingredients combined create a delicious and unique flavor combination that is sure to please any palate, which was our inspiration for Chicken Paprikas!

Stuffed Cabbage
Stuffed cabbage is a dish with a long and storied history. Its origins can be traced back to the ancient Middle East, where it was known as Dolma. The dish spread to Europe and eventually made its way to America with Eastern European immigrants.
Packo’s Stuffed Cabbage is a homemade blend of beef, pork, rice, and seasonings hand-rolled in steamed cabbage leaves and simmered in sour cream and tomatoes. It’s served as one large roll topped with tomato kraut and bread and butter for dipping.
Our Stuffed Cabbage is made fresh from our Central Kitchen, and we prepare 1,050 cabbage rolls each week!

It’s an Eastern European favorite loved by all and a newer addition to our menu!
We’ve put all the fantastic flavors you love about our Hungarian Hot Dogs on top of pillowy potato perfection to create Chili & Cheese Pierogies! There are also two other types of Pierogies styles that are vegetarian - Original with Smoked Paprika Ranch or Kraut with Sour Cream.

While chili can be traced back to the Americas, the Eastern Europeans made it their own. One thing that makes our chili an Eastern European dish is the use of paprika, which is commonly used in Hungarian cuisine and gives chili its characteristic flavor. Other key ingredients in Eastern European chili are garlic, which adds a wonderful depth of flavor to this dish, and beans.

Fresh Baked Strudel
If you’re a foodie or just love a good strudel, you will rave about Packo's Fresh Baked Strudel. This menu item was added in the 1990s and can be ordered with an Apple or Cherry filling. It's baked in a light, flaky crust and is made fresh and sourced from the Hungarian Strudel Shop in Allen Park, Michigan.
The apple strudel is filled with succulent apples and hints of cinnamon. The cherry strudel is rich and juicy, with tart cherries nestled in the flaky crust. No matter which filling you choose, you're sure to enjoy this delicious treat!
Toledo’s Favorite Fried Pickles
These are not your average fried pickles – they are made with a special blend of hot dill chunks and crunchy peppers that will tantalize your taste buds. Once you sink your teeth into one of these bad boys, you won’t be able to resist coming back for more.
We knew we had something spectacular when we started serving our fried pickles in the 1990s. Legend is that Nancy Packo was in Europe when she first tried something similar. When she got back to the states, she was inspired to create a recipe original to Packo’s to serve up to patrons. The rest is history!

Our kitchen added something new in 2022: Poutine with a twist!
We’ve taken our crispy fries and smothered them with Packo’s Hungarian-spiced roast beef, succulent gravy, creamy sour cream, shredded provolone, and mozzarella cheese. And that’s what we call Packo’s-style Poutine!
